Research Your Cover Letter: The first thing that you’ll want to do is make sure that you look into your cover letter. Make sure that you not only read over it, but make sure that it’s helping you rather than hurting you. This is one of the most important parts of your resume because what you’re going to find is that this is the first thing that the employer is going to read.

Be Social: If you’re not on Twitter or LinkedIn, hop on it. You’re going to find that if you have a skill; people are going to contact you for jobs. Keep in mind that people with no job skills such as working Hollister or even on the factory line are more than likely not going to get job opportunities. Keep in mind that you may be asking for too much and that could be a reason why you’re unemployed right now.

Build your brand: Start building a brand and networking with those out there. If you don’t have your own brand, consider making one. If you don’t know how to make a blog, consider setting up a blog through WordPress or even Blogspot.

Google yourself: Make sure that you don’t have any negativity on the web. Make sure that you search for your name and see what pops up. If there are pictures of you drinking beer and passed out the floor, this could come back to harm you. What you’ll find out is that while there are things you can’t control, you may want to hire a reputation company if you think there are bad things being said about you out there.
